Information will come home in Friday Folders this week regarding the Van Gogh online photo program. All students will be individually photographed on Sept. 6 and proofs will be sent home in about 2 weeks with ordering information. We do need a couple of volunteers to help us during photos (there are two shifts: one in the morning and one in the afternoon). Volunteers will receive a $5 voucher toward your student’s photos. If interested, please email Susie at

Superior Elementary requests a school supply donation in lieu of school supplies being brought in by each student for the school year.  This has been a huge success, not only for staff members, but for our families by saving them time and money.
The requested donation amount is $80 per student. The funds collected through this supply donation will be used by teachers to purchase ALL classroom supplies, student planners (grades 4-5), art supplies, magazine subscriptions, presentation, annual consumables, and field trip admissions.
We also request a $15 Technology Donation.  These donated funds help purchase student headphones, devices and apps.

Please make your donations here.

We have numerous volunteer opportunities at Superior Elementary and are very fortunate to have adults who are willing to help in and out of the classroom. All volunteers must complete a background check process before volunteering and a Volunteer Application form must be submitted online annually. Please click here for more information and to complete the screening process. Classroom teachers will let you know what types of volunteer opportunities are available.

When does my child visit the library?
Good news!  Every student in grades 1-5 already visited the library to check out books. Please check the 8/20/19 weekly email for the library schedule.  Students often visit the library on other days too, but those are flexibly scheduled and vary week to week.

How many books can my child check out?
Kindergarten- 1 book
1st Grade- 2 books
2nd-5th Grades- 3 books

When are books due?
Students have 2 weeks from the date that they check out a book and may also renew a book one time for an additional 2 weeks.  Students visit the library every week so you may want to encourage your child to return at least one book each visit.

Volunteering in the Library
If you are interested in volunteering in the library, there are still openings.  Please check the 8/20/19 weekly email for the library volunteer schedule.  Please email Mrs. Huffman at  if you are interested in helping out in the library.

For more information on the SES Library, including photos of the new space, and to answer other questions, visit the SES Library Website.
