Talented and Gifted (TAG)

    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​BVSD schools provide programming for Talented and Gifted (TAG) students based on their identified needs and in accordance with district identification policy, which is based on a body of evidence​.
    ​​​Superior Elementary Talented and Gifted Programming and Activities
    At Superior Elementary the TAG Educational Advisor is the primary advocate for students, communications, and programming in the school.
    The TAG Advisor at Superior is Carol Levine.
    The academic programming for talented and gifted students includes:
    • Differentiated instruction in all classrooms
    • Advanced Math groupings for third through fifth grades
    • Leveled reading groups at all grade levels
    • Language Arts and Math extensions with small groups of students
    The social emotional programming and support for talented and gifted students and their families include: 
    • District coordined SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of Gifted) groups for parents.
    Students may also be involved in the following enrichment activities and clubs:
    • Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, and Destination Imagination
    • After school clubs
    Parents were recently able to attend a Coffee Chat with Jennifer Barr, Coordinator of Advanced Academic Services, and Jenn Bedford, Superior Elementary Principal, to discuss BVSD's TAG program and the TAG programming options available at Superior Elementary.
